Obituary for Steven L. Zernach

Steven L. Zernach, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019, at age 54.

Steve was born on January 22, 1965, in Tomahawk, WI, to Larry and Jane Zernach. He lived in Orange, TX, Sylvania, OH, and Tomahawk. After graduating from Tomahawk High School in 1983, he attended UW-Eau Claire for 2 years and then Northcentral Technical where he received his Electrical Mechanical Degree. He worked at the paper mill for 30 years as an electrician.

On March 11, 1987, Steve married his sweetheart, Kathy. Their pride & joy, Derek, was born in 1990. Steve loved Kathy with all his heart and was so proud of Derek and the life he and Anne shared. He loved being “Papa” to his grandson, Lawrence. He was an avid fisherman, music lover, was known for his strong, quiet presence, and his infectious smile. He seemed to know when people needed someone just to be there, just to sit, maybe not say anything, but just listen.

Steve is survived by his Wife, Kathy; 1 Son, Derek (Anne) Zernach; his Grandson, Lawrence Zernach; his Mother, Jane Zernach; 1 Sister, Lori (Bob) Burgess; 1 Brother, Gary (Bridget) Zernach; his Father-in-Law, Don Parker; and Aunts, Cousins, Nephews and a Niece.

Steve was preceded in death by his Father, Larry Zernach.
