Obituary for Billie M. Wielgos

Billie M. Wielgos, age 85, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Riverview Health Services. Billie was born to the late Perle Passer and Reva Lust on June 30, 1933.

Prior to moving to Tomahawk, Billie lived most of her adult life in Burbank, IL, where she worked as a punch press operator for General Motors Manufacturing until a brain aneurysm left her partially paralyzed. Before her disability, she enjoyed traveling and visited Las Vegas many times to see her favorite entertainer, Wayne Newton. Later in life, she moved to Oak Lawn, IL.

Billie had a very faithful heart and enjoyed the many visits to Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church where she became friends to so many. She enjoyed playing bingo and rarely missed a game. She loved music and looked forward to the annual “Music on the River” at Memorial Park and the entertainment at Riverview. Often she would join in the singing and requested her favorite song “How Great Thou Art”. She cherished moments the family would visit, especially her great-grandchildren. Billie, also known as “GG”, will be remembered for her sassiness, sense of humor, Leinenkugel’s Beer, and pizza.

Survivors include 2 Sons, Thomas (Donna) Pederson, of Tomahawk, and Kenneth (Karen) Pederson, of Lakeside, OR;

5 Grandchildren Shawn (Kari) Pederson, of Woodbury, MN, Christina (Michael) Rabideaux, of Eau Claire, WI, Sarah (Zach) Roeder, of Stevens Point, WI, Chantel Pederson, of Germany, and Kenneth Pederson, of Brainerd, MN.

She is further survived by 7 Great-Grandchildren, Reva, Isabelle, Kyra, Mya, Leia, Toren, and Kyle.

Billie was preceded in death by her Parents, Perle and Reva; her Grandson, Nathan Pederson; 1 Brother, James Passer, and 1 Sister, Lou Pignatelli.

The family would like to thank Pastor Mark Gass and Jayne for not only the guidance over the years, but the concern, care, and friendship for Billie. Also, a thank you to Riverview nursing staff for the wonderful care, and Mickey, for always making time to visit with Billie. She treasured Mickey’s sweet nature, friendship, and the many laughs and stories they shared. Finally, a special thank you to the Tomahawk Area Interfaith Volunteers (TAIV), and Doyle for providing our family with an unforgettable Christmas.

A Memorial Service for Billie Wielgos will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, at 2:00 PM. Interment took place at Chapel Hills Garden South Cemetery in Oak Lawn, IL.
