Obituary for Joanne B. Doyle

Joanne “Joan” B. Doyle, age 82, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston, WI. Joan was born on July 28, 1937, to the late Thomas and Bronislawa (Ziolko) Wojcik. She was married to Cornelius “Neil” Doyle on October 12, 1957; he passed away in 2012.

Joanne was a compassionate and loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked at Marshall Field’s for more than 20 years. Her favorite sport to follow was football and she attended the 1985 Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots Superbowl XX to see the Bears clear the way to victory. Joanne was a marvelous cook that could whip up anything in her kitchen. Her family loved her spaghetti gravy, kolacky, ham, crepes, raisin bread, and many other delights. She was an avid gardener with the greenest thumb anyone has ever seen. Her passion for cooking and gardening was matched with her spectacular ability in all types of needlework, especially knitting. Joanne and her husband, Neil, retired to Lake Nokomis full-time 25-plus years ago where they could share their love of the great Northwoods and fishing on the lake. Joanne loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Lauren (Al-Que) Quiachon, and Joseph Doyle, her great- grandchildren, Chayce and Evan Quiachon, and special family, Patrick Luncsford, Jenna Marie Gorniack, and Mark, Gracie, Maggie, and Gabe Lunscford.

Joanne is survived by her son, Timothy Doyle, of Mount Prospect, IL;

Her daughter, Catherine (Dennis) Mace, of Carol Stream, IL; and

Her sister (and part-time roommate), Connie Luncsford, of Skokie, IL.

Joanne is further survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in her death by her parents, Thomas and Bronislawa; her husband, Neil; her brothers, Albin and Henry; and her sisters, Charlotte and Genevieve.

A Celebration of Life for Joanne Doyle will take place at a later date. Family and friends are encouraged to leave online condolences.
