Obituary for Andrew "Andy" A. Andrashie, Jr.

Andrew A. “Andy” Andrashie, Jr., age 74, of Irma, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Andy was born May 5, 1945, in Ironwood, MI, to the late Andrew and Mary (Tomac) Andrashie, Sr. He grew up in Illinois and graduated from Barrington High School in Barrington, IL, in 1963.

Andy served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was later married to his wife, Jane, in 1980; she survives.

Andy had moved to the Irma area in 1978.  He started working at Harley-Davidson in Tomahawk in the mid 1970’s and retired in 2006.

Andy enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, and was an avid Packers, Brewers, and Badgers fan.  He was also a mechanic and liked working on engines and detailing vehicles.

Most of all, Andy loved spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs.

Survivors include his Wife, Jane Andrashie, of Irma;

Daughters, Melissa Andrashie, of West Allis, WI, and Jennifer Andrashie, of Irma;

1 Brother, Michael (Dai) Andrashie, of Colby, WI;

2 Sisters, Mary Beth (Chuck) Teal, of Tomahawk, and Ann (Jerry) Ducommun, of Madison, WI;

1 Sister-in-Law, Mary Andrashie, of Wausau, WI;

3 Grandchildren, Heather Hudson, of Waupaca, WI, Hailey (Robert) Roberts, of Wausau, and Xander Andrashie, of West Allis;

2 Great-Grandchildren, Dominik and Max.

Andy is also survived by several Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, Great-Great Nieces, and Great-Great Nephews, and his loving dog, “Lady”.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Andrew and Mary; a Brother, John; a Sister, Andrea; his twin Brother, Anthony; a Sister-in-Law, Marge; and his dogs, Mandy and Buddy.

Andy will be greatly missed by his family friends and his dog, “Lady”.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in Andy’s name.

A private family gathering for Andy will take place at a later date.
